This is a temporary five to six month position and does not qualify for benefits. For the right candidate, this position has the potential to become permanent.
What you will do:
You’ll be working with an amazing team of engineers to create security content for our SaltStack Enterprise for SecOps offering. You will use Python, Jinja, and Salt statefile syntax to create content that our product will use to perform security assessments and remediations of customer infrastructure.
You will do these things:
Develop Salt States to assess and remediate security compliance benchmarks as part of our SSE for SecOps
Coordinate with the rest of the engineering team on the completion and validation of these benchmarks as part of the overall product
Create environments and tests to validate and test the performance of these benchmarks across multiple Linux and Windows versions
Request/approve pull requests to/from other team members
Proactively own assigned projects
Write effective documentation
You will be awesome if you know these things:
Linux, and Windows systems administration, configuration, troubleshooting and automation.
2-3 years development experience in Python.
Experience with Salt or similar configuration management solutions such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet.
Strong understanding of system and networking concepts and troubleshooting techniques.
Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
Good understanding of hardening wide variety of operating systems, network devices, cloud services such as AWS, databases, and hypervisors.
Good understanding of regular expressions
Good understanding of Git version control.
Experience working with Agile development practices.
You will be extra awesome if you know any of these:
Have experience with:
Center for Internet Security (CIS), or
Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA/STIGS)
Knowledge of compliance standards such as PCI, HIPAA, CSF.
Experience in IT Security
