Job Overview:

 

Develop Python code that is efficient and performant on Windows systems. Validate and update Python code that has been developed and validated on Linux systems to make sure the code is functional, efficient, and performant. Coordinate with the development team on dependencies and requirements that may be different between Linux systems and Windows systems.

 

 

Job Responsibilities: 

 

  • Produce performant, quality Python 3 code
  • Create high quality Python code for Windows systems
  • Participate in code reviews for internal as well as community submitted code
  • Design and architect APIs and distributed storage layers
  • Mentor other engineers
  • Performance testing and creation of testing requirements for performant, distributed systems
  • Occasional troubleshooting of production systems


Skills:

 

  • Deep understanding of Python 3 internals, including a demonstrable understanding of asynchronous principles and code
  • Data storage design and performance tuning
  • Thorough understanding of operating system concepts
  • Experience using and creating system-level Windows software with Python
  • Understanding of common distributed systems problems and how to address them
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (We have a “no jerks” policy)
  • Proven record of software delivery with a low defect rate
